In this session, we'll explore the art of makeup application for everyday occasions, both for work and for a night on the town. Guided by me, you'll learn techniques to look and feel great without taking forever to get ready. I will offer practical knowledge and hands-on demonstrations to empower you to leave feeling like you can do it yourself! Over the course of 3 hours, I will guide us through 4 quadrants-

Prepping Our Skin: Together, we will go through our current skincare routines and techniques and learn from one others' experiences. We will discuss skincare preparation and the impact it has on makeup application. Learn tips and tricks to address common concerns such as hydration, firmness, and luminosity. Together, we'll explore the products best suited for prepping your skin.

Exploring Your Current Makeup Arsenal: Let’s look at our current makeup collection and routines. We will take stock of the products you've invested in and examine how they're working for you. We will share experiences and observations. Do you love your current foundation? Are your brushes meeting your needs? Together, we'll assess what's already in your beauty arsenal and determine how to maximize its potential.

Recommended Practices and Refining Your Signature Look: As our skin matures, it's essential to adapt our makeup routines accordingly. In this segment, we'll focus on tailoring your makeup choices to your unique features and preferences. You will learn techniques to accentuate your face shape, eyes, and lips using suitable products. We'll discuss the importance of understanding your skin's undertones and use color theory to find flattering shades for you. From there we will go through a step by step makeup lesson, creating a daytime look as well as learning to transition into an evening look. This lesson will help you gain insights into how to accentuate your features gracefully.

Curating Your Makeup Collection: We will wrap up the class by focusing on refining your makeup collection and discussing brands and products worth investing in. I'll assist you in selecting formulas and shades to suit your needs, drawing from my research and expertise to ensure you invest wisely in makeup that enhances your unique beauty. My hope is that you will leave feeling empowered with newfound knowledge to boost your confidence and elevate your beauty regimen.

A little about me- I am Caela, a passionate makeup artist who views makeup as both a tool for transformation and an art form. My journey began at the age of 12, captivated by the metamorphosis of regular individuals into glamorous characters under the bright lights of the dressing room. This fascination ignited a passion that has led me from backstage to the spotlight. With a diverse career spanning photoshoots, video productions, commercial ventures, and everyday glam, I've had the privilege of collaborating with a spectrum of clients, including esteemed personalities like Molly Shannon, Sir Ben Kingsley, America Ferrera, and many more. My tenure at Aveda salons, where I honed both hair and makeup skills for a decade, coupled with my role as the lead makeup and hair artist for SIFF for 10 years, and a season spent in the makeup department of Pacific Northwest Ballet, has enriched my experience and expertise. My work has recently been featured in the New York Times and in Times Square. Makeup application, for me, is a meditative practice—a ritual that prepares me for the tasks ahead. It's a time I cherish as my own. I recognize that even on our toughest days, a little bit of makeup can work wonders to boost confidence. To me, makeup transcends mere colors and brushes; it's an intimate art form that allows me to empower individuals, helping them feel undeniably beautiful as their authentic selves. I think the most important thing about beauty is finding it in the present. We will never look exactly as we do today. So I try to be mindful about being grateful of where I am right now while also recognizing the transient nature of appearance. Something I like to do that makes me laugh is- whenever I have a particularly good makeup day, before I wash my face, I look in the mirror and I say "Take a good look because you'll never see this face again!".
